Beyond beauty, cosmetic facial acupuncture is a holistic treatment for the face, neck, and scalp.
For best results, I recommend a series of 10-12 weekly treatments followed by ongoing monthly treatments.

My perspective
I was first drawn to cosmetic facial acupuncture because I thought the techniques might help me treat neck and jaw pain more effectively. They do! But as I leaned into this offering I came to understand how I can release a tremendous amount of emotional tension with facial techniques. Cosmetic acupuncture treatment is a balm for the nervous system.
I will never shame those who use Botox or other procedures, but I’m driven to provide an alternative to these and other contemporary cosmetic procedures. I’m committed to examining my own learned beliefs about beauty and to holding space as my patients explore this for themselves. And along with many of my teachers and colleagues, I’m thrilled to infuse a deleterious beauty culture with the wisdom and care of Chinese medicine.
Can we relieve tension in facial muscles by coaxing them back into balance, without turning them off completely?
Can we slow the aging process and ease wrinkles while toning our nervous system?
Can we restore health to our skin and enhance our ability to express our spirit through our facial expressions?
Can a "beauty" treatment help us look more like ourselves?

Cosmetic facial acupuncture FAQ
Cosmetic acupuncture includes a full-body acupuncture treatment, plus specialized needling throughout the neck, face, and scalp.
Once points are placed, you rest quietly by yourself for about 20 minutes before I come back in and remove the needles. I’ll apply mist and serum, and if you’ve scheduled a longer-form visit, I’ll treat the neck, back, chest, face, and/or scalp with cupping, gua sha, heat, or myofascial release.
While I do use minimal simple skincare products, please note these are not traditional facials and do not include steaming, masking, or exfoliation.
I don’t believe cosmetic acupuncture hurts, but there may be occasional sensations that are briefly uncomfortable. I do everything I can to make these treatments as gentle as possible, but the face is heavily innervated by nerves, making it one of the more sensitive parts of the body. As I check in with my patients frequently, often they tell me they don’t feel the needles being inserted.
Yes! My patients share a series of cosmetic facial acupuncture treatments makes them look and feel many years younger.
Some facial acupuncture techniques are more effective than others when treating certain cosmetic concerns or skin conditions. It's important for us to communicate fully about your goals and our treatment options. For example, generally I won't treat a wrinkle directly if you don't express that you'd like us to work on it.
If I don't believe cosmetic facial acupuncture treatments will help you achieve your goals, we may utilize Holistic TCM Dermatology as part of our work together. You may see greater results when we address internal patterns with traditional Chinese medicine, functional medicine, and herbal therapy.
